I have worked all day today, without a hint of prevarication. I stopped for a lunchtime cuppa, and had a quick check on Twitter, but apart from that, I actually closed down Facebook and Tweetdeck whilst I was working. I also turned off the radio, and closed the door behind me! I am very proud of myself for this. I have also managed to achieve loads today on terms of organisation, and phone calls that needed making, one in particular, I hope means we have saved a fair few quid! I think this is going to have to be the way forward from now on. I didn't get enough sleep last night, so I am flagging a bit at the moment, but all in all it has been successful. I now plan on having another cuppa and playing with the new Beta version of Scrivener, a writing application that I have on one of my Macs, but is now on beta for Windows. I like the idea of it, and I hope that I can use it moving forward.
I managed to speak to an organisation that I have been trying to speak to for over a month today, and again, rather smugly, I narrowly prevented myself from telling them my exact thoughts as to their lack of professionalism, ability or good manners. This, I believe, makes me a nicer human being than many might give me credit for, but I might be wrong. The smaller Plugs will be returning to their respective educational establishments tomorrow. This can only be a good thing for them, but I shall miss having a bit of company. I realised a little before Christmas that one of my problems was that I was simply missing a bit of Company. Mrs Plug is now out all day long and I miss her return at lunchtime. I will keep a careful eye on myself that I don't go entirely stir crazy over the next few weeks. Mrs Plug suggested that I get a part time job for a day or so, not for the financial reasons, but just to give me someone to talk to. I'm not sure that this is either possible in the current economic climate, advisable in terms of my patience with "The workplace" or sensible considering my current workload. However, It is something I need to think about.
The Eclipse today was a bit of a let down....I watched the sun rising over the horizon, only for it to be completely obscured by cloud at the crucial moment. So what was supposed to be a partial Solar Eclipse, was actually a total Solar Eclipse, and as a result, rather a non event. Some of the pictures taken elsewhere made it look rather special though, so I will have to settle for those I suppose.
