So Nick Clegg announced in his New Statesman interview that he "cries to music". I am not sure whether that was designed to illicit some sort of sympathy in him or not, but ultimately, I am sure that most people realise he is just a human being like you or I...whether we think he is an idiot or not, is of course an entirely different matter. It got me thinking as to what music makes me cry. It tends to be either music that I associate with particularly sad moments in my life or it can simply be music played live, which stands a very good chance of getting me blubbing. A rousing chorus in a musical, or a ballad delivered with a sense of poise at a concert will always get me. I must get around to writing a list, as I think that is what is expected of either bloggers, or middle aged men in general. I have discovered a bit of a love for the music of Ennio Morricone lately, though it doesn't make me cry. I have been listening to it as we are going for a spaghetti western theme to one of our productions. It fascinates me how t transports you to another world within a few bars. I wonder if this is because I have seen the movies, or if I would be transported anyway?
