Back to the School today for the project, and although I am loving it, I still can't quite get over the fact that I am doing it, and therefore, i get terribly nervous. I think, deep down there is still a nagging doubt that I will get a tap on the shoulder and told that I have had my fun, and that I need to go and get a proper job. I shall endeavour to enjoy it nonetheless. The kids were all pleased to see me which is a good start, and we got a good afternoons work done. I think the morning's prep was essential. It is easy to get into a habit of just busking it when you do what i do. Sometimes that approach can work, but when I am being paid a lot of money to get it right, there needs to be a lot more work involved. There were some lovely little moments today, and I wish I could bottle their enthusiasm. We spoke about the part in Theseus and the Minotaur, where the children are chosen to be sent to feed the minotaur. Some of the sadness of their real lives seeped through, and that is when you realise what a precious little bundle you could be dealing with.
