Up early and ready for a day at School. It was absolutely delightful to be back, and I was pleased that I remembered as many faces as I did. We started work straight away, wary that we only have five weeks to be getting everything achieved, but we then got the excellent news that funding was available to extend the project through until before Easter, thus giving us the chance to focus and polish a lot more. I am so delighted, and I hope that I can fit it all in around the acting job. It is going to be a busy, but rewarding start to the year. I met the new year threes in the afternoon, and we played drama games for two hours, with no preparation. It is when something like that happens that I realise how far I have come in terms of confidence in the five years. There were around 30 kids to keep amused for two hours, and I could have gone on for longer. As you can probably tell, today has been a good day! A successful casting session in the evening, and home to put feet up, and relax a little. I then found out that one of my plays has been picked up by another American School, this time with a paying audience. I have seven performances of my plays between now and March, which is so very exciting, and puzzling! I am toying with the idea of applying for a readers pass at the British Library so that I can make myself go there and write. I think the atmosphere and environment might help me, and obviously the facilities will be essential. At the moment though, I genuinely do not have any spare days, so there might need to be some weekend working.
