Sunday 8th January 2012

I got up first this morning and made a fried breakfast, including vegetarian sausage and bacon for eldest.  It seemed to go down fairly well.  I am feeling rather nervous about my day at work tomorrow, as I have all day at the school followed by the first Monday session of the year.  This means that Sunday is not so much a day of rest for me.  I managed to squeeze some time off to watch the Manchester derby which was all very exciting, but the rest of the day was spent invoicing and casting and generally prepping for the War project.  It is amazing how little of what I was taught at school has sunk in, and I can remember next to nothing about such things as the American Civil War.  I feel I might have to spend much of the next five weeks revising! I continue to read Richard Herring's book, and one aspect of it is particularly enjoyable.  He goes back and comments on previous blog posts to humerous effect.  I wonder if there is any mileage in that for me?  For example, two years ago, I was waxing lyrical about the wintery dog walks available to me because of the snow fall, and last year I spoke of a documentary on Vermeer, of which have absolutely no recollection now!  This idea will clearly make me believe I have Alzheimer's, so perhaps best to avoid!
