Tuesday 3rd January 2012

The last day of the School holidays, and to a certain extent, back to work.  I feel for the girls today, as the holiday has passed so quickly.  I managed to get a little done today, but the workflow was interrupted somewhat with some news I received.  Over the last few days, I cannot recall exactly when, I received a letter from a Catalogue company that I have an account with, asking me to call them.  It transpired that someone had managed to gain access to my account, and tried to order over £6000 worth of items in my name, and get them sent to various addresses in London.  In effect, I had been subjected to identity theft.  Having looked into it further,  the people at the company thought that they had got access via my online account, and as a result they have closed the account.  The password I used on that account, was also used on many other online services, so I had to spend a happy time going and changing it on lots of other services.  What a frustrating thing to happen.  All credit to the company for picking up on it and dealing with it as they did, and I suppose the situation could have been a lot worse.

We made the decision not to take part in the next series of plays with our local group.  I hope this hasn't upset anyone, but we both felt that we needed to focus on us and our respective business interests for a while, and the challenges they bring.  Youngest has still gone for a part in one, which is fine, but we will now focus on our own projects for a couple of months, before the work starts on the play I am directing with them in Autumn, and the possible Summer School as well.  I can see a lot of lists needing to be written.

In the evening I managed to find a stream of the Spurs match, which was a tense affair, but ended with a 1-0 victory.  I then continued with my book.  I am finding it really entertaining and fascinating, so was surprised to read one or two scathing reviews.  I wonder if they were borne out of jealousy or a genuine dislike?  I know it is all subjective, but I cannot find anything within its pages to illicit such a reaction.  I will be finishing it tomorrow I think, and then I have to move on to my next choice, which will not be easy.
