Tuesday 24th July

Well here we are in our tent in sunny Pembrokeshire, and the reference to sun is done with no sense of irony.  We arrived on Saturday, and have been treated to beautiful weather ever since.  I am perched inside the tent, in rather a lot of pain with sunburn.  This seems to have become a tradition for me on holiday, and I hope that the next couple of days provide me with some relief from this.  Despite my factor thirty, I still feel as though someone has removed my skin and replaced it with a slightly smaller one.  Today, we appear to be going to Barafundle bay, which is beautiful I am reliably informed.  Eldest will be leaving today, as she has work commitments, and we will be staying until Saturday.  I believe that the weather will not continue in this vein for the rest of the week, but at least I am able to boast a tan in Wales.  This might silence some of the doubters who laughed when I said we were camping in Wales.  I have managed to avoid thinking about work too much, and have just relaxed and turned off my brain, however, as the week continues, I suspect I might have to switch back on again.  I will try not to.  Having done a little walking this week, I realise how unfit I am compared to last year, so I am hoping that Mr Pops might be a little gentle with me this year on our trip to the lakes.  I shall try my hardest to get a little conditioning in, but it might all be a little late for me.  I did see that Mr Pops recently went along Striding Edge again...I am not so sure I would be as brave, but there is a side of me that would love to give it a go.  I am now going to drink coffee and eat an egg and bacon roll whilst reading the paper on the iPad.  We have excellent 3G coverage on the site, which has made life rather civilised.

Tuesday 17th July

Oh dear reader, it's been too long....we have been drowning in a sea of Peter Pan for the last few weeks and the upshot was our wonderful show on Sunday. All the hard work, and stresses and strains are worth it when you see their little faces at the end of the show....I think it was our best yet. We have a few days now to recover before we set off for sunny Wales. We recently performed a variety show which was a lot of fun and a lot of work, and I also became chairman of the adult group for a fifth year....I will make it the last. We have lots of plans for next year, with plays already decided upon, and scripts in the pipeline for writing. I have two summer schools and two workshops to sort out this summer holiday, as well as a few days in the Lakes with Mr and Mrs Pops which is s small beacon in a sea of hard work. Eldest is off to Lamda for a fortnight, and youngest moves up to big school in September. We are all just about coping with life I think.
